And a few tips before you get cooking your <\/span>camping Thanksgiving meal<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Prep what you can at home and bring them in labeled containers or bags. Wash the produce, chop the veggies, shred the cheese, measure out the dry ingredients, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Spread out your recipes among the campervan\u2019s stove, campfire, and campsite grill to ensure you have space to make all your favorites. Check for fire restrictions in the area before you start planning!<\/span><\/li>\n

    On the stove<\/strong>: Most mashed potatoes recipes are made on the stovetop at home. You can find myriad mashed potato recipes online, or ask your mom or your grandma for her recipe to feel like she\u2019s a part of your holiday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Over the campfire<\/strong>: Use a foil pan to cook these<\/span> Rustic Campfire Garlic Mashed Potatoes<\/span><\/a> entirely over the fire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Easiest option<\/strong>: Bring a box or bag of instant mashed potatoes and follow the easy stove top directions. Some brands offer tasty flavors like cheddar, bacon, or garlic. I\u2019m always surprised by how good instant potatoes can be.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Baking the Bread<\/b><\/h2>\n

    Over the campfire<\/strong>: Fresh Off the Grid does it again with this easy<\/span> Campfire Skillet Cornbread<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Easier option<\/strong>:<\/span> Pick up a bag of dinner rolls at the grocery store. If you want them warm, wrap them in foil and heat them on the campfire grate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Making Cranberry Sauce<\/b><\/h2>\n

    On the grill<\/strong>: Toss halved brussels sprouts with oil, salt, and pepper, then grill them on skewers to get them crispy and browned. Here\u2019s a fancier version of<\/span> grilled brussels<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Easiest option<\/strong>: Bring a pre-packaged salad or some crudites and hummus to snack on while you cook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    On the campfire<\/strong>: For an easy twist on pumpkin pie, make s\u2019mores but instead of (or in addition to!) chocolate, spread some pumpkin butter on your graham cracker.<\/span><\/p>\n
