Don’t forget to drive through the park to the historic Zion-Mount Carmel Tunnel for breathtaking views of Zion. If you have the time, don’t skip Bryce Canyon National Park to see the one-of-a-kind rock formations, located just two hours northeast of Zion and worth the drive.
Joshua Tree, CA
Just an hour outside Palm Springs, California, and four hours from Las Vegas, Joshua Tree National Park is famed for its unique desert landscape. There are two campsites in Valley of Fire and they are both first-come first-serve, so we recommend getting there as early as possible since this is a favorite among locals. This campsite has electrical hookups, restrooms, grills, and drinking water.
