Book A Campervan
If you’re heading off to Moab, make sure you grab an Escape Campervan. Start your vacation at our Salt Lake City campervan depot. Then start your journey to see Canyonlands National Park, the Double Arch, and everything Moab has to offer. When you have a campervan rental you can store all your stuff in a mobile home base. Then at the end of the day, prepare an amazing dinner using your mobile kitchen and unwind in a cozy queen-size bed.
In our Big Sur model, the 3 bucket seats in the back stay put even when the bed is down, which is great for people who need more storage space or have car seats. There are also storage drawers and spaces underneath each bench.
Are RVs Too Large? Use A Moab Campervan Rental For The Ultimate Trip
You’ve most likely heard of friends who had a Moab RV rental for their trip. But there are many benefits of booking a camper van rental instead. An Escape Campervan comes with many of the same amenities that an RV does but in a colorful, agile form.
Like an RV, a camper van comes with a 2-burner propane stove, a table and bench, and a queen-size bed. However, everything is much more compact for increased functionality. For instance, the bed only folds out when you need it. So it’s like you have a secret campsite just waiting to be unfurled whenever you need it.
With a camper van rental, your vacation isn’t confined to wide roads or those crowded RV campsites. Your camper van can easily use more private tent sites. And camper vans don’t need the electric or sewer hookups the way an RV does. Camper vans are also great for dispersed camping!
But Which Escape Campervan Should You Rent For Moab?
There are a few things to consider when choosing which Escape Campervan to take to Moab. We offer the Mavericks and The Big Sur at the Salt Lake City depot, which will vary in size and amenities.
Our most popular campervan is the Mavericks. This Escape Campervan gives you a soft queen-size bed, foldaway in-van table and benches, a 2-burner propane stove, dual powered refrigerator, and a sink. The Mavericks is perfect for romantic getaways to Moab. But it can sleep 5, so it can fit friends, too. You can also rent rooftop sleepers if you want your kids to sleep on their own.
If you want more room for your family, or if going on an extended trip, think about getting the Big Sur campervan. With the Big Sur, you have the same amenities as the Mavericks. Yet it’s big enough that you don’t have to fold down the bucket seats to pull out your queen-size bed. The Big Sur also includes more storage space. So feel free to bring that extra bathing suit. You can even go for the rooftop sleeper.
All campervan rentals include our unique hand-painted exteriors. You can even rent campervan extras for Moab such as picnic tables, tents, and child safety seats to make your trip even better. And with each rental, you’ll receive individual customer care and 24/7 roadside assistance at no charge!

Best Way To Get To Moab From Salt Lake City
When driving off from the Salt Lake City Escape depot, it’s about 4 hours to get to Moab, heading south along Interstate 15. When you get to Moab, head to Canyonlands National Park and use the entrance station. Entry fees are $30.00 per private vehicle with less than 15 occupants, but $80.00 if you show an “America The Beautiful” National Park pass.
About Canyonlands National Park
Canyonlands invites you to explore a wilderness of countless canyons and fantastically formed buttes carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries. Rivers divide the park into four districts: Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the rivers themselves. These areas share a primitive desert atmosphere, but each offers different opportunities for sightseeing and adventure.
Canyonlands National Park is generally open 24 hours a day, year-round.

Where Can You Camp At Moab?
Most visitors like to hang out at White Crack Campground. You’ll want to call first, though, as you may need reservations — especially in the high season from March to September. Of course, you won’t need a huge RV pad or water hookups, which means you can camp almost anywhere!
For smaller, more intimate campsites, you can try Willow Flat Campground or the Murphy Hogback Campground. Or try dispersed camping near Moab in your campervan. Remember, dispersed camping means no restrooms, showers, or fire rings, so you want to abide by the Leave No Trace principles.
