However, you will not be refunded for the unused minimum days.
How much does it cost to rent a campervan?
Our Campervans typically cost between $69 to $149 per day depending on location, season and trip length. Rental rates vary significantly – to get an up-to-date estimate it is recommended to use our online booking tool. Rate quotes are valid for the day issued – to lock in a quoted rate a reservation must be completed with an initial payment – the rates may change without notice after that. We recommend reserving your trip early – cancellation with a full refund is available up to three days before the start of your trip.
What is the cost per mile?
Each rental has 150 free miles for each rental day. At the end of the trip, if you exceeded the total free miles allowed for the trip, you’ll be charged $0.35 for each additional mile. For example, if you drive 2000 miles on a 10-day trip, you’ll have 500 excess miles and will be charged $175.
Do you offer unlimited mileage?
Yes, you can add unlimited miles at any time before and during your trip. The daily rate for unlimited miles is published on our booking system.
What other costs should I plan for?
Food, gas, and campsite reservations are the main expenses to plan ahead for. Always book passenger car spots for our vans – you will not need any hookup connection or tank dumping and these spots are far cheaper than RV spots. You can also rough-park for free in many locations. Our vans can drive 25-30 miles per gallon of fuel on the highway. We recommend stocking up in a local supermarket before heading on the road – roadside and campsite restaurants and shops tend to be more expensive.

You may shorten a trip’s length by 1 day for each rental week with a full refund for that day, starting from day 7. For example – if you booked a 10-day trip and returned on day 8, you’ll get a full refund for one day and a 30% refund – or full credit for a future rental – for the second day. In case of discrepancy between this FAQ page and the rental contract, the contract overrides.
Can you help me find a camping spot or plan my trip?

How do I manage waste and hygiene in a campervan?
While not having a shower and toilet built into your vehicle may seem as a disadvantage at first, most travelers find that with minimal planning the savings and flexibility compared to driving an RV are well worth the trade-off. Public toilets are available in all parks, campgrounds and road stops (gas stations and restaurants). Many campgrounds and truck stops have laundry and showers available for a fee (look for Pilot or Love’s truck stops outside of the big cities) and the vans are equipped with a camp shower. If you are planning to spend more time in cities, a gym membership is a great way to access training and shower facilities.
Do you have special deals for multi-month trips?
Yes, we have a purchase and buy-back option that is very cost effective for trips longer than 3 months. This option is also available for non-USA travelers, and greatly reduces the complexities of registration and insurance.
What electrical power options are available in the vans?
All vans have USB ports and 12V cigarette-lighter sockets. Some vans have 110V American sockets and USB-C ports. We recommend getting a cigarette-lighter socket-to-USB converter plug for faster charging.

What are my options for insurance?
You must have insurance in the primary driver’s name to start your trip. You can buy insurance from us or use your own insurance, subject to our review and approval. Our vans are licensed as passenger vehicles and should be covered by standard policies; however we have seen instances of insurance denying claims when they see the word “campervan” on the contract, leaving you to pay the bill – check with your agent to avoid unpleasant surprises! Our CDW insurance covers damages to our van with $750 deductible, and damages to other people or property (third party) up to the minimum required by state law in the location of an event. Our CDW insurance does not cover personal injury to the renters, damage to personal equipment or subsequent losses such as missed flights, substitute accommodations, etc. Such losses are typically covered by general travel insurance which is sold separately.
Can I pay cash at the counter when picking up?
The reservation must be completed and paid in full online before we can release the van to you – we do not allow on-location rentals and cannot process cash payments at pickup. If you prefer to make a wire transfer or make a cash deposit at a bank branch, contact us well ahead of time to set up the terms.
Is my payment card information secured?
We do not get nor keep your card information – it is processed through a third party clearing house (such as Stripe) which is highly secured and globally recognized.
Do I need an international driver’s license?
You only need a DL with a picture from your home state or Country to rent. Please note some states in the USA require an international driver’s license – renting from us does not release you from the state obligation.
Can I take the van off-road?
You are only allowed to drive on public roads, paved or properly leveled dirt roads. Off-road driving is prohibited and not covered by insurance. The vans have low clearance, are front-wheel drive, and are highly likely to get damaged or stuck if taken off the road.

Our vans don’t have tow hitches and are not insured for towing.

We currently don’t offer bike racks for rent.
Can I park my personal car at your facility?

The toll pass covers all bridge and tunnel tolls – just drive through the FastTrack lanes, and we’ll take care of the charges. Note that fast lanes or toll roads are not covered; only bridges and tunnels are. When you are in Central and Eastern time zones, tolls are billed directly to you with a 10% processing fee added, even if your trip started on the West Coast and has a toll pass selected.
I don’t need the camping equipment – can I rent the van without it?
We will remove equipment only for long-term rentals with an additional fee of $100. Most of the equipment is stored under the back panel of the bed, and the storage space gained from its removal is minimal.
Can I make changes to my trip options after I book?
You can add or remove options anytime before the start of the trip. You cannot change the insurance coverages after the start of the trip. You can add the additional miles option after the start of the trip but cannot add it to specific days (only to the entire trip). Changes made to the trip start and end dates after the cancellation period (3 days before the start of the trip) may not qualify for a full refund. Extensions can be made anytime, subject to the availability of the campervan and other bookings.

Can I pick up the campervan at one location and drop it off at another?

What is the cancellation policy?
You can receive a full refund if you cancel within the cancellation period, which is up to 3 days before your trip starts, or 24 hours from booking for last-minute reservations (made 1-2 days in advance). If you cancel after the cancellation period, you will receive a 30% refund for each unused day, or a full credit that can be used towards a future rental (transferable). For each week of your rental, you can shorten your trip by one day and receive a full refund for that day, starting from day 7. Is the campervan equipped with a bathroom or toilet?
No, but there is room in the minivan camper to bring your own small portable toilet if you choose.
What kind of storage space does the campervan have?
The ample storage space under the bed allows you to keep your luggage and gear organized and accessible. Additionally, the van’s interior height and the space between the bed and the front seats allows you to sit, dress, and put on shoes comfortably without having to go outside—a convenient feature during rainy weather or when stealth camping. We recommend that your choice of luggage is soft duffel bags with top opening for easy access. Suitcases are less convenient to handle and store in a minivan campervan.
What should I bring for my trip?

What are the insurance requirements for renting a campervan?
To begin your trip, the primary driver must have insurance. You can either purchase insurance through us or provide your own, subject to our approval. While our vans are licensed as passenger vehicles and typically covered by standard policies, it’s crucial to verify with your insurance agent that your policy extends to campervans to prevent potential claim denials. Our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance includes coverage for:

Our CDW insurance does not cover:
- Personal injuries to renters

- Subsequent losses (e.g., missed flights, alternate accommodations)
These types of losses are generally covered by separate travel insurance, which we highly recommend you procure separately. .
