What a fantastic experience!! We loved our van! We travelled for 3 weeks with the van and it was super! We hopen to do it again! The service in Denver is splendid. Very relaxed en smooth!!The bed was good, even for a tall guy.
I highly recommend Escape Camper Vans. The price wasn't much more than renting a regular vehicle capable of some ground clearance to be able to get off pavement onto some back country Colorado dirt roads. We spent 7 nights camping in it. The bed was comfortable for two, even with me being 6' 4". The 12 volt refrigerator drawer worked great and had plenty of room for normal cold stuff. The stove worked great. It is a high profile vehicle so you have to watch the wind but it wasn't foreign to me, just be mindful if you normally drive a small car. Overall the check in and check out procedures were great. They even worked out a first responder discount at return as I forgot when I picked up the van.
This was one of our favorite experiences with Escape yet! Pick up & drop off in Denver was super chill and easy. And it allowed us to explore Colorado a few days as well as heading all the way up to Grand Teton to make our Wyoming dreams come true. Every time i adventure with Escape I regret not making the trip a longer journey. But until next time…
Having been to three different Escape Campervan locations, we know that they are a great company and have great vans and customer service! That being said, Darren is a serious boss, and made our process easier and better than any we've had before! They included more free items and accessories than other locations, and our van "Wildlife" was both very picturesque and very capable! Thanks Escape, and thanks Darren!
Great experience with escape camper van! Rented the Big Sur was perfect fit for my girlfriend and myself. We also got the bedding and kitten package. Had the van for 7 days and toured the majority of Colorado. Bed and Kitchenette were a huge perk. You can’t beat the price, we looked into renting a car and then hotel and it would’ve been way more! The staff at the Denver location was super helpful and nice.
Easy pick up and the van was great! We went about 900 mi in 6 days around CO in the winter, from Denver to glenwood springs, black canyon, the sand dunes, and bishops castle. No issue and the team at the denver location were friendly and super helpful. Would def check this out if you like the outdoors and adventures!
Overall, a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked into the door, to the moment we walked out after returning the van, the customer service was exceptional, and the employees were enthusiastic.Going in, I had no expectations for the van, but what we got felt “just about right.”It wasn’t the most luxurious ride, but it got the job done, and had a few nice surprise features. If you are renting the van to travel in mountains or cold climates, the van has heat, and quickly warmed us up if we got too cold, but for sleeping, the van will not stay warm all night, but they provided adequate bedding with the bedding kit for us to stay warm. Helps to have a snuggle Buddy though. Also, be sure you know how to apply snow chains on tires before you head out. We rented them, but struggled a good bit to put them on when we needed. Thanks to the locals of the Lost Lake area for pulling us out of a stuck spot. There were minor van malfunctions around the vehicle, but nothing under the hood, or anything that really hindered the trip.9.5 out of 10, would rent from again.
Our experience from online booking through to the return of the van was exceptional. They respond to questions and requests in a timely manner. The staff in Denver was super polite and helpful. The van was in great shape and got us through our 1,000 mile journey around Colorado with ease. I would highly recommend Escape Camper Vans for your next road trip excursion!

Colorado Camper Van FAQs
How much does it cost to rent a camper van in Colorado?
“The average cost for a camper in Colorado is $85-160 per day. You’ll also want to plan for other costs like mileage fees that range from $0.30-0.40 cents per mile you drive and filling up your camper van with gas. Lower-priced camper vans will usually be more compact, whereas the higher-priced ones will be roomier and have extra features like more sleeping spaces or extra utilities in the kitchen area.
Like other travel expenses, prices for campers in Colorado can vary depending on availability and the time of year. For example, you may see higher prices during big tourist times in Colorado, like ski season or spring and summer, when a lot of people want to go camping at popular national parks.”
How old do you have to be to rent a camper van in Colorado?
In Colorado, you must be at least 21 to rent a camper. The age minimum can be even higher depending on each rental company’s policies. Some companies require drivers to be 25 or older. The main reason for these age minimums is insurance expenses. Drivers under the age of 21 are usually seen as being too inexperienced or may take more risks when driving. Combining that with the high liability that rental companies face, it wouldn’t be profitable to rent to younger drivers.
It should also be noted that some companies that allow drivers under 25 may charge more for security and insurance for younger drivers or void the insurance coverage. So, make sure you review the camper rental terms and conditions beforehand.
