5 Day Road Trip from Las Vegas

When you have five days to travel, here’s a quick overview of some places you can make it to during that time:

  • Day 1: Travel about 2.5 hours outside Vegas to Zion National Park in Utah. You can spend the day exploring the park and reserve a campsite where you can park a camper van and sleep overnight. 
  • Day 2: Drive about 1.5 hours to Bryce Canyon National Park to explore its famous hoodoos and natural amphitheaters. Reserve a campsite at the park to sleep in your camper van overnight. 
  • Day 3: Take a 2.5-hour drive toward Page, Arizona, where you can visit Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. Find a campsite to park and sleep for the night, such as the beautiful Page Lake Powell Campground and RV Park. 
  • Day 4: Drive about 2.5 hours to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, where you can explore viewpoints like Bright Angel Point. Then, end the day camping in the park. 
  • Day 5: Start the day by taking a few more hikes and exploring the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, and then begin the 4.5-hour drive back to Las Vegas when you’re ready.

7 Day Road Trip from Las Vegas

Here’s a great itinerary for a weeklong road trip starting in Las Vegas:

  • Day 1: Take a 2-hour drive from Las Vegas to Death Valley National Park, where you can explore Badwater Basin, Zabriskie Point, and Furnace Creek. 
  • Day 2: Leave Death Valley and take a 3.5-hour drive to Mammoth Lakes to explore the town and natural hot springs. 
  • Day 3: Go on a 45-minute drive from Mammoth Lakes to Yosemite National Park, where you can visit famous landmarks like Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, and the Merced River. 
  • Day 4: Spend another day exploring Yosemite’s landmarks you didn’t get to the day before, or enjoy hiking, photography, and wildlife watching in the park. 
  • Day 5: Take a 4-hour drive to Sequoia National Park, where you’ll find the Giant Forest, home to the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree by volume in the world. 
  • Day 6: Spend another day in Sequoia to explore more deeply, such as hiking to Moro Rock for panoramic views and visiting Crystal Cave if time allows. 
  • Day 7: Begin the 7-hour drive back to Las Vegas, hitting small stops or visiting exciting towns.

10 Day Road Trip from Las Vegas

If you want an extensive vacation, here’s a 10-day itinerary you can follow:

  • Day 1: Take a 2.5-hour drive from Las Vegas to Zion National Park. 
  • Day 2: Spend another day exploring Zion. Consider hiking the Narrows or Angel’s Landing for adventurous trails. 
  • Day 3: Drive 1.5 hours to Bryce Canyon National Park. Explore the Bryce Amphitheater from Sunset Point, hike the Navajo Loop, or Queen’s Garden Trail.
  • Day 4: Drive 2.5 hours to Capitol Reef National Park. Spend the afternoon exploring the Capitol Reef area, including the scenic drive and light hiking.
  • Day 5: Travel for 2.5 hours to Arches National Park. Visit famous arches such as Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch.
  • Day 6: Head to Canyonlands National Park, which is 30 minutes away. Explore the Island in the Sky district, visiting Mesa Arch and Grand View Point.
  • Day 7: Drive to the Needles District of Canyonlands for a different perspective. Enjoy hikes like Chesler Park.
  • Day 8: Take a 3-hour drive to Monument Valley and see iconic rock formations. 
  • Day 9: Go on a 3.5-hour drive to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon for viewpoints like Mather Point and Yavapai Observation Station. 
  • Day 10: Spend the morning enjoying more views of the Grand Canyon or take a short hike along the Rim Trail. Then, start the 4.5-hour drive back to Las Vegas.
