My experience with escape campervans was the best yet. Everyone was super easy to get ahold of and easy to talk to for any questions. I was able to pick up my van early and extend my rental no problem. The vehicle was dependable and comfortable. I drove over 4,000 miles and had no problems whatsoever. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a campervan rental. ✨

Rented a van for 3 nights to explore a bit of the Oregon coast. Pick up was smooth, purchased some kits like the bedding and kitchen supplies which were very useful for such a short trip. The fridge is small but surprisingly can hold a decent amount of food. The bed was more comfortable than we expected, slept well and felt safe! Space can get a bit tight when the bed is out so if you’re breaking it down and setting it up each night, it can take 15 minutes or less. Not at all a con but for the time of year with the constant rain, it was not something we wanted to spend time doing so we ended up just leaving the back as the bed the whole time (is that allowed?). Not sure if this is across all locations but the spot in Portland had a “recycling” program where can grab leftover supplies that others have donated (soap, used propane, lighters, some food etc), helped save some $!

10/10 recommend escape campervans to anyone! flew in to portland oregon from philly, picked up there (great experience) and dropped off in los angeles 12 days later (only a $250 charge to drop off at another location which saved us hundreds more and gave us more time to explore and not have to make that round trip back) this was our first time renting a campervan, so complete beginners and it was a breeze! pricing was clear from the beginning, we went way over our miles and it still only cost an extra $340ish more. van was comfortable, reliable, in great condition and drove super quiet considering how many miles were on it. The ONLY thing that was a bit of a pain was the limited pick up and drop off times… it made finding a flight a bit more difficult and gave me some worry that all flights were on time… and they were and everything worked out just fine 🙂 but for future reference a few more hours of leeway would be appreciated! Otherwise I cant complain about a thing! Our Dragon campervan is def a core memory of our roadtrip! Fyi: this is the Maverick style van… plenty of room for the 2 of us. protip- get a $15 king sixe mattress pad at walmart to put on the bed so you dont feel the creases in the cushions! and dont buy any supplies til you see what previous renters left behind to share! we left a bunch for y’all! have fun! pics below: crater lake, buffs beach, kings canyon, sequoia np, joshua tree

Very accommodating and efficient staff. Thanks for everything Ava. Van was older than we anticipated but ran fine - cooler drawer worked exceptionally well and we were surprised at the level of comfort of bed.

Holy Moly, I cannot say enough great things about our booking with Escape Campervans. We booked through Portland, OR for pickup and dropped off in Seattle, WA. We got to have the trip of a lifetime because the Maverick van had everything we needed. We opted for the Roof top sleeper which was awesome to sleep under the stars. The van had a great fridge container, storage, and kitchen set for all our meals. How great is it to be traveling and just pull over and make a sandwich. The van is easy to drive and so darn cute. We had “Pepe” which was such a fun van. Also, the staff was amazing! They have a free area where campers and travelers can pass on items from their trip they do not wish to take home. Great sustainable efforts!!Honestly I could not recommend this more to anyone traveling.

It was our second experience with Escape Campervan, surely not the last. In 2022 with the Big Sur in Banff and Jasper areas, this time with the Del Mar in Oregon and Cascade Mountain range. We are a family of 5 (kids are 14-12-7 yo), and we were comfortable to sleep and for the seating.Everywhere we went, people noticed the van, talked to us, and we were absolutely satisfied with the van, no technical issues. The staff in Portland was helpful and kind, big thanks to their team!Pictures of our « Au Natural » van!

Our first adventure in Oregon and we couldn’t have been more happy sharing our experience with escape campervans. It was comfortable to drive and sleep in! I would 100% recommend anyone driving along the coast or interior adventures to go with this company. Moriah was exceptional with our check in.We left behind a solid cd that should be passed along to each and every camper. It made our journey more memorable. If you’re reading this and have a trip coming up take the cd with you and enjoy 🙂

Phenomenal service 11/10 recommend. I had and issue with a previous rental company and I found escape and they were able to secure a van for me in 12 hours! The rental process was so easy and they were upfront with all the costs which I appreciate. They have been great helping us find the most bang for our buck in terms of miles and days. The van was clean and well cared for. Additionally in the Portland Oregon location they had a “collection” of paper towels, toliet paper and sunscreen that other had left behind that we could stock up on before the left. AMAZING. The customer service personnel was also outstanding. I can’t wait to use this company again.

Our team rented this baby for an all-woman Hood to Coast Relay team in style! Was ready for us as promised. Very roomy and comfortable! The pop-up “roof tent” provided the needed extra sleep accommodations for us all. Easy to drive/park with great brakes for the downhill trip! Will definitely stick with THIS OPTION over a 12 or 15 passenger van!

Great experience! Easy pick up and drop off which was close to the airport! This location (and possibly others) had left over supplies from previous renters; paper towel, water, some food items, etc. which was super handy.Would recommend and rent again!

This company knows how to provide a simple, affordable way to explore any area of the country you can get to from their hubs! My best friend and I did an Oregon road trip from Portland and had a comfortable and reliable place to rest our heads throughout the trip. The staff at the depot were super friendly and helpful. The van was user friendly and people with moderate camping experience could operate this comfortably! Thanks for the memories!

Smooth experience from booking to pickup to dropoff. The van was perfect for a family of 4, lots of space (both while in-motion and when relaxing inside while the weather is not cooperating). Galley is well-appointed, and sleeping areas (inside the van and the rooftop sleeper) are super comfy. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Will definitely rent again on our next trip out west!

So nice we booked them TWICE! We absolutely LOVE traveling the west coast with an Escape Campervan. The setup is PERFECT. It’s so easy to move around inside the Maverick with two people. There’s plenty of seating with a table, and it’s super easy to convert it to a bed. The back kitchen area is set up for easy access from the back. Having a fridge makes it sooo easy to store food, and the propane stove makes it easy to cook on the fly. Both times we rented, the vans ran FANTASTIC. No issues at all. The locker where you can pick up camp supplies that other travelers have donated is a HUGE help! We love finding treasures in there, and love leaving some for the next person. The mural art on the vans was the biggest draw for us, because we are artists ourselves. It’s luck of the draw which one you get. Our first one was a bit corny but it grew on us. Our second one was the Eyecatcher van and I’ve never been more proud to drive around in something before. The paint job was stunning! Will book every time we go to the west coast!

Great trip! We loved the simplicity throughout the booking and being able to chat with the Escape Campervan team was great. The bed was surprisingly very comfortable, I was impressed. The paintings are all so beautiful, it was really cool to spot other Escape Camper Vans on the road. The roads in the USA are so great to roll on so everything went smoothly with the van. We will definitely book again if our travels bring us back towards a similar type of trip.

How much does it cost to rent a camper in Oregan?

The average daily rate for a camper in Oregon is $85-160. You’ll also want to budget for gas and mileage fees. The typical mileage fees charged on camper van rentals are between $0.30-0.40 cents per mile you drive. At the lower end of the price range, you’ll find more compact camper vans that are great when you’re traveling with less than five people. At the higher end, you’ll find larger campers that will fit up to five people much more comfortably.

Rental prices also vary depending on the time of year and the demand. Typically, Oregon gets the most tourists between June and early October, when people come to enjoy the sunniest spots and outdoor activities in the area. Camper prices will likely be higher during those times.

How old do you have to be to rent a camper in Oregan?

You need to be at least 21 years old to rent a camper van in Oregon from Escape Camper Vans. Many other companies in the area require you to be at least 25 years old to rent RVs and campers. The higher age minimums to rent and drive a camper are due to liability and insurance costs. Drivers under 21 have much higher insurance premiums because they’re inexperienced and may tend to make more reckless decisions. Those high premiums and the liability of renting vehicles would make it unprofitable for companies to rent to younger drivers.

If you do find a company that will rent to a driver under 21, you can likely expect a lot of extra fees and potentially have insurance coverage voided. So, it’s best to plan to have a driver who’s at least 21 when you’re renting to ensure your trip is cost-effective.
