I had the greatest experience with Escape Campervans in Vancouver last month. Chris was very very kind to us and gave us many much needed camping supplies without even us asking in the first place. I really enjoyed my time and the van was truly amazing. It has everything you need for a great time, and we really loved it there despite the weather being terrible.
This is my third time renting with Escape and I continue to be blown away by the level of customer support. I needed to modify the reservation a few times and the reservation team was amazingly accommodating. At check out, I ended up forgetting a tent in the van. Sam (Vancouver team), actually drove out to our hotel to drop it off. As for our Big Sur van, this was our dry oasis during our adventures during some pretty nasty weather. Thanks sooo much to this amazing bunch of people. Until next time.
I rented out a van in Vancouver and was very pleased with the experience. The van 'into the wild' was a great mobile base camp for exploring places like Vancouver Island, Bowen Island, Squamish and Whistler, but was also easy to drive around the city of Vancouver. The team in the office was also very supportive and informative. Definitely recommending the Escape vans if you want a more camp -style experience, as it has all the basic equipment without the 'fancy stuff'. It always feels more as an adventure - this was my second time of rental....and I hope for more in the near future.
Loved our camper van and the company. Van was ready on time and the staff (especially Kyle) was super helpful. Our sink pump stopped working around the 2nd day of our trip though (which was a bit inconvenient) but the company reimbursed us for a water-jug we bought to supplement the sink no questions asked. Would for sure use this company again.
We hired a Big Sur campervan which we drove through British Columbia for three weeks. The van was comfortable to drive and easy to manoeuvre at our campsites. The bed was comfortable, there was heaps of storage space and the fridge held a lot more than we expected. The two burner stove was easy to setup and packup, I just loved the van. The staff in Vancouver where we picked up and dropped off our van were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely hire one again if I am ever in that part of the world again.
Booked a van for 2 weeks. I have never rented a van before. But it was one of the best trips I've ever done.Staff is super friendly and helpful. It takes a little to get to the venue for picking up the van but it's definitely worth it!I would recommend this place to anybody or would also come back my own and take a van there. Our van got a new name "GOATEE".
I am not exaggerating when I say this was one of the coolest experiences of my life. I did not want to give this van back!!!! We rented it for a weekend while we were visiting the PNW using the Fri-Mon discount at $50/day. They get you with the miles on this deal because you only get 100 miles per day and any overage is $0.25 per mile - still totally worth it!! I've noticed they have some groupons out with much larger mileage options which would probably be the best route to go next time.Even still we took it to Orcas Island, Seattle area, and all around the Olympic National Park (LOTS OF MILES) and it was so amazing knowing we had everything we needed with us at all time - including a place to sleep!! First thing we did when we got the van was grab some ramen, and then take a much needed 2 hour nap in a parking lot post overnight flight from Kauai. The bed is SUPER comfortable and very large in the Big Sur - my boyfriend and I are 5'8" and 5'10" and had no problems spreading out. The van comes with sheets and a nice duvet, and the Vancouver office had extra blankets which we happily borrowed since it was quite chilly out. The bed converts from a seating/table space that we never actually used.Having the fridge drawer was awesome, and we even managed to use the stove and sink on our very last night - cooking quite a spectacular meal of sausages and ramen next to our campfire :)They have all kinds of extras you can rent, but also lots of "freebies" in the office - things people have left behind that are super helpful like salt, pepper, tin foil, toilet paper, towels, olive oil, cooking utensils etc.Driving the van was pretty easy - just make sure to bring your own Aux cord or rent one so that you can use your phone to listen to Harry Potter for three days straight.Overall really badass experience, really cool paint job, 12/10 would rent one of these bad boys again and now we're even thinking about making one of our own.Chris in the office was really great and helpful getting us all set up and situated - allowing us to pick up the van early and drop off a smidge later was a game changer for our timing of our trip that was MUCH appreciated. Thanks for the awesome experience Escape CamerVans!! We'll be back 🙂
We are no longer accepting new reservations for the Vancouver hub for 2024. Please call with any questions.Â
Vancouver, British Columbia, is the perfect launching point for campervan road trips. Popular stops include Whistler and the Pacific Northwest, as well as Canada’s renowned Banff and Jasper National Parks. Or, head to Montana and visit the popular Glacier National Park. Then again, the electric blue waters of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake are just a day’s drive away!
On the other hand, the city of Vancouver itself is worth exploring on its own. After all, it’s surrounded by majestic mountains and pristine water. However, it also has thriving art, theater, and music scene. For example, you could spend a day visiting Granville Island, hiking in Lynn Canyon, or tour the Museum of Anthropology.
Renting a campervan in Canada is different than the US. Accordingly, here are the important details regarding your campervan rental in Vancouver BC:
We have a limited supply of campervans available.
We only offer one-way travel within our Canadian rental sites. This means if you start your trip in Vancouver, you can drop your campervan off at our Vancouver or Calgary rental locations. Â However, you can pick up in Canada, drive into the US, and drop back off at either Canadian rental site.
Supplemental Liability Insurance cannot be offered on Canadian rentals. However, the minimum liability insurance provided for rental vehicles in Canada covers $1,000,000 CAD worth of third-party damage. In short, this is higher than the minimum liability insurance provided in the USA.
If planning on taking a ferry to nearby islands, please note that the van is considered an oversized vehicle because of its height of 2.3 m (7.6 ft).
